The idea for this project arose when I was in Vienna Park “Burggaten”. Vienna is one of the cities that I crossed as a refugee after leaving Ukraine.

I walked around and could not believe how these two opposite realities could even exist at the same time: violence and murder of people in Ukraine and the carefree vacation of happy people in Viena Park.

I had an internal protest. I wanted to stop this carelessness, I wanted to break it.

I want people in Europe, outside of Ukraine, not only not to forget, but also to actively participate in the protests, provide financial aid and stand up to the aggression!

In the background, there is a big sheet of glass where I depict Vienna Park on a sunny day. Here, vacationers carelessly spend time lying on the grass.

The inner part of the window is taped. So, in this way, today people in Ukraine are protected from possible explosions.

Three “wounds” - three images of the dead, defenseless people hang on ahead the window. These little works are gray and almost invisible in front of big and saturated work.

All this is accompanied by the loud sound of conversations in Vienna Park and the singing of birds. And also there are quiet sounds of sirens and quiet whispers from bomb shelters in Ukraine.

During the performance, I broke the glass as a sign of disagreement with the carelessness of people. The loud sound of the park also turned off at that moment.  We could shift our attention to the main problem - the horror in Ukraine.

When the war is over, I will collect these pieces and glue them together with red adhesive. The world will no longer be the same after such a catastrophe.
