The mosaic is a poetic part of the “40x30x20” project. In it, I use shells and sea glass collected from Arcadia Beach by my family, friends, and acquaintances throughout 2022 and 2023. These shells are not just materials; they are symbols of solidarity.

As a shared gesture of collective resilience and remembrance all of these people gathered these shells as a small act of support for my work. Each shell reflects the collective efforts of those who contributed to this piece, echoing the spirit of Ukrainians uniting to support and protect Ukraine during challenging times.

Art, regardless of the medium, is a capsule of time. This mosaic quite literally encapsulates, or “cements,” a specific period.

The mosaic depicts waves, representing the sea from which these shells were gathered.
